Directions

The workshop will be held in the Philosophy Faculty, which is on the 10th floor in the Philosophenturm building: Von-Melle-Park 6, 20146, Hamburg (map)

The closest train station is Dammtor, which is a 10 min. walk from the venue.
The closest UBahn (subway) station is Hallerstraße, which is a 15 min. walk from the venue.

If you arrive at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, take an S-Bahn (S11, S21, or S31) to Dammtor, which is the very next stop. Or, you can take a bus: either the M4 (Wildacker) or the M5 (Burgwedel or Nedderfeld), getting off at the Universität/Staatsbibliothek stop (on Grindelallee, just after the stop at Dammtor). It takes about 10-15 minutes and costs 2.10 €. (The starting bus stop is on Mönckebergstraße, just west out of the station and Steintorwall) A taxi from the Hauptbahnhof should be around 15€.

If you arrive at the Airport, take the S1 to Ohlsdorf (first stop). From Ohlsdorf, take the U1 (direction Hauptbahnhof/Wandsbek Markt) to Hallerstraße.

Accommodation

A good, affordable option is the Schanzenstern hotel. It is located very close to the Sternschanze train station, from where it is a two-minute train ride to Dammtor. If you like, you can also walk directly to the venue, which should take around 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can use a city-bike that can be borrowed for 30 minutes without charge. Another relatively inexpensive option located very close to the venue is Hotel Amsterdam.

Other good hotels (within a 10 min walk from the venue) but more expensive:
Hotel Vorbach
Hotel Amsterdam
Hotel Bellmoor
